Certified Functional Manual Therapist Through the Institute of Physical Art

At an early age, I would occasionally spend time in my begetter's clinic and watch him have care of his patients as an ear nose and throat surgeon.  I would watch him problem solve with his patients and then piece of work with them to find healing.  The impact of those sessions was tremendous for his patients and too for my father.  This was the kind of work I wanted to do.  I realized at historic period nine that I wanted to help people heal and detect a better path of health in life.  Even at a young age, it became articulate to me that this can carry over and inspire a deeper healing in more important parts of life than just health.

My "E3"claiming to my patients who are seeking an improvement in their physical condition is to do the following:

"Cover a pivotal moment, Engage your potential, Heighten the World"

I realize that we cannot ever fully command the wellness that is upon united states of america, only we CAN make a choice equally to what to do with it.  This is a call to activity, to choose to notice out more about who we are and then share the results with the globe equally nosotros are inspired to.

Along my professional journey, I received my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology – Exercise Physiology (1999) and Master's degrees in Physical Therapy (2003) at California State Academy of Fresno.   In improver, while at CSU Fresno, I spent 2 years every bit a lead strength and workout motorbus working with many NCAA athletes including baseball, softball, football, soccer, wrestling, track and field, equestrian and power lifting.  In 2004, I accomplished the sought afterward certification equally a "Force and Conditioning Specialist" (CSCS) through the National Force and Conditioning Clan (NSCA).  During this time, I too chose to find my personal potential and seek my power lifting career.  At one point I was fifty-fifty able to walk abroad with title of 3rd in the world powerlifting championship in 2000 with the Earth Clan of Benchers and Dead Lifters (WABDL).

Similar ability lifting and so many other areas of life, equally a Physical Therapist I have a choice to abound stronger and improve my skills.   I hold myself to the same potential for growth that I expect my patients to experience.  My patients and I both must strive to perform better today than yesterday, but not equally good as tomorrow.    Afterwards graduating with a Main'due south caste in Physical Therapy at California Country University of Fresno in 2003, I connected my grooming and mentorship over the following 8 years with the Institute of Physical Art (IPA) which delivers a image of Physical Therapy focused Functional Manual Therapy carefully integrated with neuromuscular preparation and motor learning.

In 2006, My wife and I moved n to Due east Contra Costa County, California and started our kickoff Concrete Therapy practice.  Effectually the same time, and more than importantly, started our family and take been ultimately blessed with iv wonderful children.

Our Antioch dispensary, allowed the gratis temper to continue to refine and apply our avant-garde techniques and combination of Functional Manual Therapy, neuromuscular re-pedagogy and strength / workout grooming in the daily patient intervention.  This treatment approach has been met with a warm response from the medical and patient customs of East Contra Costa.  Our clinic in Northern California continues to experience healthy growth and positively touch on the lives of a large number of the local population.

In 2012 I tested and passed the Certification in Functional Manual Therapy (CFMT) and later found my way into assisting in lab and being bachelor as faculty to teach some of the classes I initially attended as a student.  Teaching has get a growing passion of mine equally I realize nosotros all have something to larn and besides something to teach in every interaction.

In 2016, after 13 years of practice in the field of Concrete Therapy, I was honored with the invitation and accustomed the position to be a part of the year-long American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Concrete Therapists (AAOMPT) accredited (IPA) Fellowship for Functional Manual Therapy.  Less than 2% of Concrete Therapists get to embark on this opportunity.  I compare this to being able to advance your training with the "Yodas", "Obe Ones" and "Jedis" of any manufacture.  The mentorship and training with such talent was life irresolute.

I am a current member with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Orthopaedics Section, the American University of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT), and the National Strength and Workout Clan (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

In 2018, I fabricated some new friends in the communities and orphanages of Haiti. I establish that Concrete Therapy outside of our countries borders is much needed every bit well.  In a land where in that location is so piffling, there is sometimes more happiness.  Some of these people have meaning disabilities, merely discover a path of opportunity and smiles to brand their day successful.  I take some to give and much gain from these resilient people.

When not practicing Physical Therapy, I enjoy growing with my family, traveling, camping, the outdoors, and spontaneously taking a right turn instead of a left on a route trip to see what'southward over there.  In the Kabat household, there is often a daily wrestling lucifer with the kids, a good dinner table conversation about the solar day's events, and a good night prayer before the day comes to an end.

As each new 24-hour interval starts, I look forward to seizing the moments and opportunities to utilize my God given talents according to his will.  I try to live by the "E3" motto that I challenge my patients with: "Embrace a Pivotal Moment, Engage your Potential, Enhance the World" …
